No matter how much of a guilty pleasure this late Autumn charmer may be, this off-beat rom-com is couldn't be more over used while being so under-done. It's say to say, it's much better than last years comic blunder Good Luck Chuck and scored more chuckles than the forgotten Employee Of The Month. My Best Friend's Girl is top for it's type. It will never receive the applause as many recent Apatow-roms like Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshal, but considering the unexperienced and uninspired writer, My Best Friend's Girl hits a high note and manages a delightful balance between a frat-pack romp and feel good romance. Some of the material is actually quite original like the scene when Dane Cook takes a strict religious bore to a Chessyus Crust (Jesus Chris) pizzeria and all hell raises. They do pack just enough sappy smut for the laddie audiences, But MBFG really lets off when Dane Cook let's loose and becomes a real as*hole. Kate Hudson reprises her You, Me & Dupree act and pulls off another mediocre performances. And Jason Briggs is well, playing the same role he's portrayed since American Pie.

As funny and as charming as this movie it it has a massive down pour. The electricity and chemistry between the cast is lazy and very unbelievable. And when corruptions accrue between characters it's hard to feel sympathetic or all the think you can relate to it because it feels so fake. There are countless gags that fall flat, but there is a reoccurring innocence through out this film that it always buys you back. The audience laughed, Hard.

You can still please the rom-com crowd but still finding a source of originality. Nothing here seems new or thought out, and of coarse there are major clichés that unravel but it's all part of the fun.

Hilarious! My Best Friends Girl proves it can be both sweet and funny while playing with recycled goods. Doesn't have that feel good factor that's packed into recent comedy attempts but this is on both the lads and lasses will enjoy. Cliché to the bone, sappy to the core, but as filthy and raw as a Playboy stag due. One for the rom-comers, fans of the genre will love it! One to take your date too...
