In the film Depp stars as famed gangster John Dillinger who's on the run from dogged FBI man Melvin Purvis (Bale). Bruce Wayne is dead! Oh, sorry: Spoiler Alert! Anyway, somebody better call Christian Bale with the news that writer Grant Morrison killed off millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne in a series of stories called Batman R.I.P. (which, as titles go, is pretty much a spoiler in itself). What happens? Bruce Wayne attempts to stop a villain who just may be Wayne's own father, someone we thought was dead already (see: the reason Bruce Wayne became Batman). There's a helicopter crash and, well, things are (at least) in flux for the Caped Crusader. Still, to be honest, we aren't totally worried about it (we're betting the billion dollars that The Dark Knight raked in will help keep Bruce Wayne...

We've seen several set photos from Michael Mann's Public Enemies, the 30s-era gangster epic starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. But none of the images have featured Bale, and you can't really beat the official stills with the right lighting, the complete costumes, and the smoldering gazes of Misters Depp and Bale. So behold the first official images from Public Enemies, debuting at Empire Online before showing up in the January issue of the British magazine (the one with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine on the cover). Look at the period hats! The suits! The threat of imminent violence! Oh, and Jack Sparrow and Batman, facing off against each other from either side of the law. Public Enemies comes out next July; if they keep coming up with images like these, it'll definitely be hard to wait that long. Empire has the full size images, so be sure to check

McG spoke to Total Film to address and dispel the four major rumors surrounding his forthcoming Terminator Salvation.
In clear language, he said that Ain’t It Cool News’ rumored ending was a fake. “That is not the ending. John Connor is not the machine. We did discuss that idea, but that is not the ending, I can say that right now.”
As to whether or not James Cameron blessed someone else directing his baby, McG said, “I did go to see James Cameron. He didn’t give us his blessing, but he didn’t shit all over our movie. When Jim was making Aliens, he was following the great Ridley Scott, so he knows how we feel.”
There was the issue about lead actor Christian Bale’s doubts about taking on the role of an adult John Connor. “I met Christian when he was shooting The Dark Knight. He

Give or take Miami Vice, Michael Mann is usually a very solid director. His next project is one called Public Enemies, about the real story of notorious American gangster John Dillinger and his FBI pursuer Melvin Purvis in the 1930s. Think of it as something like The Untouchables, except set in the 1930's and told from the side of the bad guys. It's being described as somewhat like Heat II, which could mean a lot of good things and a lot of bad things (do we really need more sequels?). However you look at it, with the debut of these two new photos from Empire today, I think it shows we don't we have much to be worried about at all. While they're fairly simple shots, they look great so far, and we haven't even seen any footage yet either. On the left you'll see Johnny Depp as gangster John

Last week, we took stock of the best women’s fashions that hit cinema screens in 2008 and agreed that it had been a good year for the ladies. But how did it fare for the fellas? Not too shabby, thanks for asking. This past year has seen a whole glut of classy chaps parade their goods on the big screen. From young ‘uns like Zac Efron in High School Musical 3: Senior Year working the check shirts and skinny ties of today’s trends to the more established gentlemanly look of James Bond’s formal suits in Quantum of Solace. The fashions have reflected all weathers – the wintry knitwear in Zack and Miri Make a Porno to the sunny beachwear of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and both sides of the law – from superheroes Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Bruce Wayne (The Dark Knight) to the underworld criminals in RocknRolla. And we

It's hard not to expect great things from a crime movie starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, especially when it's directed by Michael Mann. That's the case with Public Enemies, which Universal has enough faith in to release in the middle of summer next year.
Depp stars as John Dillinger, the notorious Chicago bank robber gunned down in the Biograph Theatre in 1934, or at least, that's the story. There are plenty of people who believe Dillinger wasn't killed, a pretty romantic notion that probably spawned because so many people actually thought of him as kind of a Depression-era Robin Hood. However, there may have been some weird physical differences between the Dillinger of police and medical records and the body autopsied in 1934.
Bale will play Melvin Purvis, the FBI agent assigned to track him down, a road that eventually led him to the Biograph in July of '34.

We've seen a few photos from the set, but Empire has snagged the first official images from Michael Mann's Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in what has to be one of the most anticipated on-screen match-ups of 2009. In the flick, which is based on the book by Bryan Burrough, Bale will portray FBI agent Melvin Purvis, who, under the guidance of J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup), waged a full-on war against the country's most notorious (and successful) criminals -- namely John Dillinger (Depp), Pretty Boy Floyd (Channing Tatum) and Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham). It's a pretty wild true story, and one Mann and his cast should have a ball with. Check out an image of Bale after the jump, and the full images in this month's issue of Empire Magazine.

Sam Worthington has a whooooole lot riding on Terminator: Salvation. It'll be the first major movie role for the Australian actor, who will also show up in James Cameron's Avatar, and may make that movie a lot more money if he's already become a star. So you can't blame him for taking to the web to defend his next movie, which has been hampered by bad buzz even though no one really know anything about it. He talked to Moviehole's Clint, who went on a long rant defending the movie before getting to what Worthington had to say. First, he wanted to clear up that Christian Bale calling the movie "alright" didn't mean the movie was going to be terrible. "Knowing Christian - I'm sure he would reserve his true judgement till the movie is complete. So I believe this comment shouldn't be given much weight." Of course,

Today we have two new pictures from Public Enemies, the Michael Mann helmed, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp flick. In the movie, Bale's FBI agent Melvin Purvis tries to take down Depp's John Dillinger and his crew, Pretty Boy Floyd and Baby Face Nelson. Billy Crudup co-stars as J. Edgar Hoover. Check the pics out Below. And to be honest, these pictures are pretty underwhelming. For something starring Bale and Depp these images somehow slapped logic in the face and made it look bland.
