Punisher: War Zone star Ray Stevenson is the latest actor added to the cast of post-apocalyptic thriller Book Of Eli, starring Denzel Washington. The tough-as-nails former Rome star will play an enforcer hunting down Eli (Washington) across the American wasteland. Allen and Albert Hughes are directing the film, which also stars Mila Kunis and Gary Oldman, reports Variety. Sacred book Eli’s mission is to protect a sacred book (we’re guessing Futuristic Human Recovery For Dummies) that may help mankind restore... .

In his Outside the Box interview featurette on the new DVD of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (coming December 30), director Tony Randel states that releasing the movie at Christmastime 20 years ago was “a huge mistake” on New World Pictures’ part. Fortunately, the video market is more forgiving than the theatrical one, so presumably he has no objections to Anchor Bay’s disc arriving in time to spread a little post-Yuletide anti-cheer.
This Anniversary Edition is also appearing long enough after the Bay’s previous release of Hellbound that its supplemental pleasures more than temper any double-dipping pain. The movie deserves the revisiting, too, as it represents a best-case scenario for a horror sequel (or a follow-up in any genre, for that matter). Unlike the subsequent HELLRAISERs, which plunked Cenobite villain Pinhead (Doug Bradley) down in unrelated (and, as the series went on, pre-existing) scenarios, the Peter Atkins-scripted Hellbound directly continues the

The movie’s only been in Us cinemas for a week, but before fans could see just one reel of Twilight it’s star Robert Pattinson had been crowned the hottest male movie vampire in a poll by Moviefone. The Us movie website also showed some love to Pattinson’s co-star in the teen romance Cam Gigandet (James) who polled third in the list. The film, based on the popular Stephanie Meyer novel dominates the top spots along with adaptations of other literary works, namely The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice. The 1992 big screen version of the first in Rice’s neck-biting tales, Interview with the Vampire scored spots for Brad Pitt’s Louis (second), Antonio Banderas’s Armand (fourth) and Tom Cruise’s Lestat (eighth) with the top five completed by Stuart Townsend (fifth) reprising the role of Lestat in the third in the series, Queen of the Damned.

Now that everyone is digesting the making of New Moon MTV Movies Blog has come up with their wish list for the next movienbspWell we here at MTV News are certainly excited that New Moon has been greenlit Without the Twilight sequel there would be a big hole in our lives around here so as an editor Im happy. But as a Twilighter? Im apprehensive.Ive been an irrationally enthusiastic Twilight fan since April. And in the months since the books and premovie hype became a fullfledged popculture phenomenon thus open to fullfledged criticism Ive been a Twilight apologist defending the series in spite of its flaws. And when bad reviews of the movie started coming in I braced myself for the fight.Sadly there was no fight in me when the credits rolled. Instead I cried out to anyone who would listen all the ways that this could have

Box Office
It was predicted and it came to pass. Teen vampire film Twilight took a huge bite out of the box office this weekend with a massive gross of $73 million. The sequel(s) have already been given the green and it looks like this $37 million flick is going to be hugely profitable for fledgling studio Summit. Writer Stephanie Meyer, director Catherine Hardwicke and stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart should be pretty happy this weekend. I wonder if they’ve ever heard of type-casting?
Daniel Craig’s second James Bond outing should shoot up another $30 million over the weekend giving the 007 adventure a total gross of $110 million. By Monday morning Quantum

Her career rolling along quite nicely these days, That 70s Show alum Mila Kunis may have just inked her most high-profile movie gig yet.
The Hollywood Reporter says Kunis will co-star with Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman in The Book of Eli, a new thrilla that will probably be a lot like the rest of Denzel's medium-budget action flicks, only set slightly in the future. He plays a man trying to protect a book that may hold the key to saving civilization. Let's hope it's not The Secret.
Kunis will portray a mysterious woman named Solara, who at first is out to wreck Eli's mission but ultimately joins him in his quest. It's a big step up from her completely useless role in Max Payne and might be a lateral move in terms of screen time from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, in which she was pretty good, all things considered. But

Mila Kunis is the latest to join Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman in Albert and Allen Hughes’s upcoming drama “Book of Eli.”
Washington will play Eli, a hero who travels across America to protect a sacred book and pass on the knowledge of what could be society’s way to redemption.
The Hollywood Reporter says Kunis plays a woman who first tries to betray but later joins Eli on his quest. Oldman stars as the despot of a small town.
The Hughes brothers, who last helmed “From Hell,” are directing Gary Whitta’s script, which Anthony Peckham rewrote. Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment are producing the project.
Kunis, who's famous for her role as Jackie on "That '70s Show," most recently starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in "Max Payne." She also voices Meg Griffin on "Family Guy."

No, I'm not talking about Eli Stone, although that would certainly be twist. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Mila Kunis has signed on to Denzel Washington's upcoming The Book of Eli. Set in the future, the film focuses on a lone hero named Eli (Washington) who treks across the ravaged lands of America trying to save a sacred book that could save the future of humanity.
Gary Oldman signed on last month to try and get the text for himself, and now Kunis will join the action as Solara, a woman who is tapped to betray Eli, but then joins him on his quest. If we get one more big comedy out of Kunis in the upcoming months, I think she'll have solidified herself as the guy's gal with her ever-growing roster of action flicks and comedies.
I'm also dying to remention that which shall not be named again,

The Book Of Eli just got a little sexier. Well, ok, a Lot sexier, with news that the awesome Mila Kunis has signed on to join the Denzel Washington action movie. In case you haven’t been paying attention lately, a quick reminder: the movie, the first to be directed by the Hughes Brothers, Albert and Allen, since From Hell, will see Washington play a warrior who must negotiate a perilous post-apocalyptic America in order to protect a book that may just hold the key to saving mankind. Kunis has signed on to bring her smoky voice and sultry, heavy-lidded eyes to the role of Sonara, a woman who is sent to betray Eli, but ultimately ends up joining his fight. Gary Oldman also stars – back on bad guy territory as a despot desperate to prevent Washington from saving the book. The role wraps up a great year for Kunis,

Top 10 Reasons Not to Make Batman 3 Brad has officially added Batman 3 to the RopeofSilicon database, but that doesn't mean it's going to get made, it just means hopes are getting high. Everyone and their mom wants Batman 3. Without a doubt I want it. Sooner the better. And ,of course, since The Dark Knight made a zillion dollars, there will be a third one within the next few years. No question on that happening. However, just because we demand another sequel doesn't necessarily mean it's the smart move to make one. So here's just a few things - some serious, some not so - that should cause you to pause before whining about the wait for Batman 3. Expect More Annoying Viral Sites They keep the fans interested, but they really are annoying.

Whether you look at it as controversial, interesting, brilliant, eye-opening or a complete work of historical fiction there is no denying Oliver Stone did not approach JFK without knowing damn near every publicly available (and not so publicly available) detail there is to know about President John F. Kennedy and his assassination. If you aren't willing to accept that then you need to pick up this copy of JFK on Blu-ray or on 3-Disc DVD and listen to Stone's commentary over the film as well as his commentary in the 54+ minutes of deleted/alternate scenes. He is rather boring in tone and there is damn near no excitement, but it will give you a larger appreciation for what I consider his masterwork. Is there a lot of speculation and conspiracy theories presented in the film? Certainly, but they are presented as such. It isn't as if any real conclusion is

There's a film in production at the moment called The Book of Eli, but for some reason, I hadn't ever really looked into it until now. ComingSoon has an early teaser poster for the film, which is set for release on January 15th, 2010, that looks pretty interesting, so I thought I'd look into it further. Directed by Albert and Allen Hughes, aka the Hughes Brothers, The Book of Eli is a post-apocalyptic western, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. We'll get into more detail on the story a bit later, but for now take a look at this mildly impressive poster. Is he a ninja or a samurai or a cowboy with a sword? Who really knows? Denzel Washington stars as the lone warrior (seen below) and Gary Oldman joins him as

The boys over at comingsoon got the first look at some 3D art for the Hughes Brothers' big budget post apocalyptic film The Book of Eli. The film from Warner Bros. Pictures is already set for a January 2010 release date and has both Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman attached to star as pro and an tagonists respectively.
"Washington plays a survivor who must fend off gangs and a brutal tyrant in a desolate wasteland. Oldman will play the film's villain, a "despot of a small and pathetic town, who’s determined to get a hold of Eli’s book."
It's probably hard to see in the image to the right but that's a samurai sword ol' Denzel is sportin' (at least I'm assuming that's supposed to be Denzel). Samurai sword coolness aside, this one's still registering high on the I am Legend scale (as in, will probably look great but

Not too long ago, we told you about Gary Oldman joining the Hughes bros. directed sci fi western The Book Of Eli in what appears to be a villanous role and now the folks over at "Coming Soon" snapped the film's promo poster at the current American Film Market.
